Unfortunately, it’s not possible to visit the lighthouse. The building doesn’t meet the requirements yet for a one-and-a-half meter society.
Unfortunately, the Lighthouse Texel is momentarily closed. Because the space in the building is limited, keeping a distance of 1.5 meters is very difficult.
The Texel lighthouse was manned for a long time, serving the safety of people at sea. In 2003, the Brandaris lighthouse on Terschelling took over this task.Read more
In the World War II, the Texel lighthouse was heavily damaged. A new wall was built around the old battered tower. You can walk between the walls where the bullet holes are still visible.Read more
Up till 1864, the Eierland Grounds off of Texel constituted a grave danger for ships. After 10 years of lobbying, the Texel notary Kikkert succeeded in convincing the authorities the necessity to build a lighthouse.Read more
