On June 18th, the Texel lighthouse will operate as a communication and safety post for the catamaran sailing race ‘Rondje Texel’. The lighthouse is therefor closed for the public from 11:00 – 14:00. We hope you can find another spot to watch this fantastic event. As soon as the last sailing boat rounds the northern tip of the island, the doors of the lighthouse will open for visitors.

Via a winding staircase, you climb six stories of the lighthouse. There’s no elevator. For your safety on the staircase we strongly advise you to wear fastened shoes for climbing the lighthouse. So no flip-flops or slides. Unfortunately, dogs must stay outside.
